CADA, Council 12, and Companions

Guess who's back, back again.. Katelyn's back, tell a friend. I feel like all of my recent blogs have started with rejoicing of my return. Oh well.

The past four days were well spent. I went to a leadership called CADA, and it was so much fun! Although I was hesitant on going, I'm glad that I ended up spending my four days at UCSB with a bunch of wonderful people. Each day was filled with a bunch of activities and let me tell you: although very tedious and tiring, the last four days were so great that words won't even come close to describing how amazing the experience was. So, I leave you with pictures from CADA.

I'm sorry this blog wasn't as extensive as my other ones. Going into detail would turn this blog post into a novel. A picture is worth a thousand words, but memories are worth a million. And I definitely made some of the greatest memories (and friends) thanks to leadership camp.

Weird Faces, Walks, and Watch Parties

I'm back.. again! As for my lack of posts, my laziness kicked in. I apologize and hope you can forgive me. (But of course you can, and that's why you're back here on my blog again!)

Yesterday was pretty great. The sunshine-filled morning started by going to church with my family. The only thing I really got a kick out of was my sister chewing some Orbit gum. It sounds weird, but it's true! Because she decided not to brush her teeth that morning (gross), I made her pop a gum in her mouth. She made a plethora of weird faces that I didn't even know she was capable of making. It was pretty funny, and there's no use in me trying to describe it because it was one of those you-just-had-to-be-there moments. Sorry, reader! Maybe next time I'll take a video.

Something I always look forward to is spending time with my boyfriend, which I haven't really done as much as I would have hoped because a) I don't have a car/insurance, so I always have to find a ride somewhere and b) he gets busy with football. But that's alright, because when we do hang out together, it makes it that much more fun and enjoyable.

Trying to avoid the usual movies-and-dinner dates we always have, Isaac and I decided to do something we haven't done together: bowling! I took him to 300, and we played one game since we both like being cheap and did not want to pay an excessive amount to roll a ball into some pins.

I had a very off day yesterday, okay
The remaining time spent together was used up by walking around Oakridge and going to random stores to play with whatever was inside. We went to Brookstone, a Radio Shack-esque store, and found enjoyment in their magnetized writing boards, as well as their massage chairs (but those hurt in all the wrong places). And what's a trip to Oakridge without a stop at the Disney store?! I searched around like a little kid in a candy store, while Isaac just followed me around. How was he not excited at the Disney store?! I'm mindblown too, reader. Trust me.

After browsing through Target, Macy's [in which I smelled Chanel Blue (the cologne Harry Styles uses) and came to the conclusion that he smells magnificent], Sears, and a whole bunch of other places, we stopped at a photobooth to take pictures. All the themes were pretty cheesy (the enchilada kind), and we were having a hard time settling on one as our background. Although unexpected (but very much needed, in order for us to just take our pictures), Isaac pressed the start button on accident and we had five seconds to make up a pose. The timer on that thing went so quickly! We couldn't even think. We had a good laugh out of it, though.

I'm hoping that in time we get better at these
Needless to say, I came home pretty happy. The family had a movie night and we ended up watching New Year's Eve. I love that movie! I had a good day yesterday and I hope you did too.

Until Next Time,
Katelyn

Mommy's Birthday, Milk Chocolate Brownies, and Much Bitterness

Hello reader! I apologize for my lack of posting.. You're probably asking yourself, "How did I ever survive without Katelyn's daily posts?!" Have no fear, reader, I'm back! And you can bet your bottom dollar that your entertainment has returned in full effect.

Nothing too spectacular has happened the past few days, but if you insist on knowing of what has been going on in my life currently, here is a bullet-point list for you:

  • The family went to go watch the Katy Perry: Part of Me movie in 3D. I highly recommend the film, even if you aren't a huge Katy Perry fan (but trust me, after this movie, you will be). As a singer, I  now look to her for inspiration. Overall, the film was touching and heartfelt.
  • The days after that were pretty much filled with nothingness, as most of them were spent sitting around on the computer. My life can be very exciting at times like those.
  • Some of my friends (or most, I should say) are more like family to me. One of those friends is Kristian Vizcocho. He called me yesterday to tell me he missed me (insert a plethora of "awww"s here), and we just had a good time catching up. Yay for friends who can keep up a conversation!
Today, however, was a very special day. 36 years ago today, my beautiful mommy was born!

She obviously hasn't aged a bit
Today was another one of those afternoons were I had nothing planned, so I decided to make my mom a card to give along with her gifts. Not much to my surprise, what I had written on the back of the card made her cry (I could seriously win an award in Making Moms Tear Up).

I try to be creative.. I try

After our presentation of gifts, I found out something very appalling that I will not share with the interwebs. However, I will let you know that the person it's about is very stingy with their brownies and has a lot of hostility built inside him/her/it. If he/she/it ever reads this blog, I would like you to know that you do not have very pretty insides, and you would have probably done Pinocchio a lot of justice with all of those lies you told.

(I'm a very happy girl with good intentions and positive outlooks--please don't let the above paragraph fool you.)

Until Next Time,
Katelyn
